This video shows our MM-20/850 Mighty Monitor Demucker System in operation in northern Canada. Trucks come in caked with grit, frozen mud and snow.

Using the hand-held wand, the operators can easily vary the flow from stream to cone to safely and effectively wash all parts of the vehicle.

Since the MM-20/850 produces a powerful 20 gpm @ 850 psi stream, this type of cleaning is much quicker than using a standard pressure washer.

Highly recommended for the cleaning of heavy construction or mining equipment and trucks, our revolutionary demucking systems clean with the power of a fire hose but use a fraction of the water.

Our demuckers will quickly remove heavy accumulations of dirt, clay, ice, and mud from all sorts of equipment – saving both time and water.  Depending on your application, we have smaller units with flowrates from 8 to 20 gpm and pressures from 300 to 2000 psi. All of them are much quicker than a standard pressure washer!

All types of demucking can be done by easily switching from a long-range stream to a close-up cone stray with a click of the wand.

This video shows our MM-20/1000 Mighty Monitor Demucker System operating in northern Canada. Trucks come in from the field caked with grit, frozen mud and snow and leave a short time later, clean and ready for service.

“I also want to let you know how impressed I was with all of the JDI equipment. Every piece of equipment you provided was exceptionally well constructed. I am thoroughly impressed with everything!”

“Everything I have seen and heard so far indicates that they are very happy with the demuckers. They are even creeping into the building and washing trucks every chance they get as ‘trial runs’, even before the contractor has officially turned the project over to them.”  – Brian S.

Issues: A very large mining operation was rehabbing its existing wash pad and adding a new one. As with most mining operations, most of their vehicles are very large and, therefore, can carry a large amount of solids into the wash bay. These solids get caked into every surface of the vehicles.

The engineers designing their new building contacted us to assist with washing and treatment equipment and maximize their wash bay design.

Solution:  We worked closely with their engineers to first design a very efficient solids handling and settling system consisting of trenches, sumps and a settling basin.

Once we completed the design, we recommended a number of washing systems to augment their pressure washing systems.  Due to the fact that they had a variety of vehicles and equipment, they decided on dual 20 GPM @ 1000 psi demucking systems, an undercarriage wash and monitor system for washing. One demucking will be used also be used to supply the undercarriage wash system.

For their application, we also developed a very effective cleaning system which included multiple compact water monitors placed strategically in the wash bay. Each monitor system will supply 100 gpm @ 100 psi. For easy movement, the wash monitors are attached to custom steel trollies that are mounted on steel rails inside the wash bay.  It can be easily customized with a wide range of nozzles selections.

Since they would be washing in different wash areas, we then coordinated with the electrical engineers to integrate all of the remote controls so the systems could be easily controlled by a small crew.

After washing, the water is treated so that it can be re-used by a complete self-contained system, capable of processing 100 gpm.  It is a Closed Loop Carbon Treatment System so there is zero fluid discharge to the facilities’ surroundings.  The system includes a clarifier oil water separator to remove oils, ozone to remove odors and multi-level filtration to remove of particles greater than 10 microns in size, substantially all emulsified oils, waxes and other volatile organic compounds.

All of the systems were easily upgraded to meet mine safety standards.

Case Study – Rental Equipment
portable equipment room

Problem: An equipment rental company specializing in heavy-duty construction equipment needed to build a wash bay for their haul trucks, dozers and construction vehicles. They had limited inside space in a leased building so they needed a to put all of the equipment inside a portable equipment room that they could pick up and move if needed. Due to their location in a remote area with no sewer connection, they needed a closed loop wash water treatment system.

The company called and asked us to build a heavy-duty, self-contained washing system and help them design the wash pad and solids settling area.

Solution: We had worked with this client for years so we were well aware of the washing and solids handling complications associated with heavy construction equipment. With input from the client, our engineers designed a wash pad design and solids settling system that fit into a rather tight footprint.

All of the wash equipment including a closed loop wash water reclaim system, an electric pressure washing system, and a demucking system was installed in a 40’ Transportable Equipment Room (TER-40) and located adjacent to the wash pad. This saved building costs, preserved valuable warehouse space and will allow them to move the entire system to a different facility if needed.

Effective cleaning, therefore, is critical to reducing the transport of invasive plant species that have the potential to upset the natural balance of plant life and wildlife.

Many land management and forestry companies utilize a multitude of equipment ranging from bulldozers to light utility trucks. Work is often in off-road locations where equipment is exposed to many different elements and collects solids rather quickly, including mud, debris, seeds and spores. Cleaning this equipment is vital to having a successful operation since too many solids can foul the equipment and cause extended periods of down time.

Of particular concern to industry professionals are the plant seeds and spores which are often transported in the mud and debris that is picked up by vehicles and equipment. Effective cleaning, therefore, is critical to reducing the transport of invasive plant species that have the potential to upset the natural balance of plant life and wildlife.

Typical washing and water treatment solutions include:

Mighty Monitor Demucking Systems (Water Cannons)
Our revolutionary heavy-duty Mighty Monitor systems only use 20-60 gpm – approximately 1/10 to 1/20 of the amount of water used in the traditional water cannons. Our systems combine increased pressure and specialized nozzles to ensure a quality wash. Using fresh or recycled cold water, our Mighty Monitors clean quickly and effectively, in half the time of a typical pressure washer.

Portable Wash Containment Pads
Robustly designed for range of industrial applications, our portable wash containment pads can provide an economical alternative to a conventional wash pad. Easily transported and assembled, these wash pads are ideal for remote locations.

Closed Loop Systems
Our Wash Water Treatment Systems are heavy-duty, multi-stage reclaim systems, engineered and manufactured for the heavy industries. They can be customized for particular application and locations.

Mining equipment washing applications are challenging for several reasons. The most important issue with this equipment is 24/7 availability. Solids, dust, mud and oils can quickly and completely foul the trucks, conveyors, and equipment. Keeping the equipment clean will avoid costly shut downs of parts of your operation.

Mining and Heavy Dump Trucks
Mining and Heavy Dump Trucks

Mining’s remote locations almost guarantee operations without sewer connections. Many times these operations are also adjacent to environmentally sensitive areas. The combination of the equipment washing and rainwater can cause overflow into a nearby waterways or wetlands, creating environmental concerns and violations of permit conditions. These violations can be costly if not remedied quickly.

TYPICAL SOLUTIONS:

Mining operations often need two types of cleaning systems – high volume demucking system for heavy solids removal and hot water pressure cleaning for grease and oil removal.

Electric hot water pressure washer

De-icing of offshore equipment and rigs is critical to insuring the safety of the workers. Our explosion-proof hot water pressure washer cleans and de-ices surfaces in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 120°F. Constructed of stainless steel, this system has a manually activated winterizing system with a control valve and anti-freeze reservoir.

Most facilities also need completely self- contained water recycling systems since there are no sewer connections and rainwater detection and water level controls to eliminate the wash pad overflows.

They are often excellent candidates for the WWMI TWP System – a transportable wash bay equipment room containing all washing and recycling equipment needed to completely collect, store, treat, and redeliver the water for all cleaning requirements.
